BRAND NEW Visitor Centre

Complete with the official Coronation Street Tour, café and cinema space hosting a nostalgic look-back on over 60 years of Corrie history.

Coronation Street: The Tour has announced two new additions to the soap’s ever growing fictional universe. Launching next month, the Weatherfield Precinct is an impressive two-story working set that gives fans a chance to go behind the scenes of the iconic show. It will sit alongside a new purpose-built Visitor’s Centre, complete with an official Coronation Street store, cafe, and cinema space, which will host a nostalgic look-back on over 60 years of Corrie history.

Tickets for the newly enhanced tour will go on sale from Blue Monday (16th January), the proclaimed ‘most depressing day of the year’ – to help bring some of Weatherfield’s famous northern cheer to the public. Access to the new extension and Visitor Centre is included in the price of a current tour entry ticket – giving the public more to explore than ever before.

The opening of the new Weatherfield Precinct comes shortly after its first on-screen appearance on January 13th. Fans of the show will be familiar with the hang out spot after hearing it referenced by residents of the iconic street over the years. The new opening marks the first-time ever viewers will be able to take trips to the shopping centre themselves, alongside their favourite characters.

Designed and developed by the Coronation Street Design and Construction teams, the new set has been cleverly aged and weathered to look like it has been there for decades. On screen, the new set will give scriptwriters the chance to make the most of the show’s broadening horizons, creating opportunities to explore storylines beyond the cobbles of Coronation Street itself.

The opening of the new Visitor’s Centre will bring with it the show’s first dedicated retail space and food and drink offering. Visitors will be able to explore the only official Coronation Street store and purchase unique mementos and merchandise that bring the soap to life. The brand-new cinema space will host an exciting sizzle reel that gives visitors a nostalgic look back on over 60 years of Coronation Street heartbreak and happiness. The centre is set to unveil more exclusive exhibitions and activities over the next few months, with more news to be announced in due course. Tickets for Coronation Street: The Tour are on sale from 16th January. The tour will reopen for its first tour on 11th February.
